Alastair Fitzpayne

Alastair focuses on US policy. He was previously executive director of the Future of Work Initiative at the Aspen Institute. He served as chief of staff at the Department of Health and Human Services and held senior roles at the Department of the Treasury during the first five years of President Barack Obama’s administration, including deputy chief of staff and assistant secretary for legislative affairs.

He worked on Capitol Hill as a senior economic advisor to Senator Evan Bayh and Representative Rahm Emanuel. He also held positions at the White House Office of Management and Budget and Abt Associates, a public policy consulting firm.

Alastair holds an MPP from the University of California-Berkeley and a BA from Vassar College.
