Carl-Henric is the chairman of AB Volvo, the former chairman of BP and the chair of the European Round Table.

He has extensive experience steering multinational companies through times of crisis and transformation. During his tenure at BP, he led the board through the Deep Water Horizon incident, its aftermath and the company’s recovery. As the CEO of Ericsson, which he joined in the middle of the telecom crisis, he led the restructuring and a strong expansion of sales, and managed the rollout of 3G and early versions of 4G.

He was previously the CEO of Assa Abloy Group, a Swedish manufacturer of locks and door hardware, taking the company from a small domestic business to a global leader through an effective global acquisition strategy.

He is chairman of The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, a member of the advisory board of Harvard Kennedy School and the recipient of the King of Sweden's medal for his contribution to Swedish industry.

Carl-Henric holds a master of science in applied physics from the Institute of Technology at Linköping University and a bachelor of science in business administration from Uppsala University.
