Gita Wirjawan

Gita is the chairman and founder of investment management company Ancora Group and Ancora Foundation. He is a visiting scholar at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center, where he is conducting research on the directionality of nation-building in Southeast Asia and is a Visiting Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Harvard Kennedy School.
Gita served as Minister of Trade of Indonesia from 2011 to 2014, and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (a government agency) from 2009-2011. Previously, he had a career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan and also served as Commissioner of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina.
Gita was Chairman of the Session at the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in 2012 which focused on easing global trade barriers. He hosts the educational podcast "Endgame", which focuses on Southeast Asia to promote the region’s growth and prosperity.
Gita holds degrees from the Harvard Kennedy School (MPA), Baylor University (MBA), and the University of Texas at Austin (B.Sc).
