Bruno Le Maire
Senior Advisor
Bruno Le Maire is a MAP senior advisor who most recently served as France’s Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty (2017 to 2024).
Previously, he held several senior ministerial roles, including Minister of State for European Affairs and Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rural Affairs and Spatial Planning.
Beginning his career as a diplomat, Bruno was appointed Foreign Affairs Adviser to Dominique De Villepin, French Minister of Foreign Affairs, in 2002. He later served as Chief of Staff for Prime Minister de Villepin, and in 2007 was elected to the French National Assembly.
At the same time as his national responsibilities, Bruno was elected as Regional Councillor for Normandy in 2010. In November 2014, he was selected by the UMP party as their candidate for the French presidency.
Since leaving government, Bruno has advised global industry leaders and contributed to academic discourse on economic governance, holding visiting professorships at the University of Lausanne, the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, and IMD Business School.
Bruno holds a master’s degree in literature from the Sorbonne University and is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and the École Nationale d’Administration, where he completed advanced studies in literature, political science, and public administration.
