Poul Skytte Christoffersen
Senior Advisor
Poul advises clients on EU policy, drawing on a long career in Danish diplomatic service, including as permanent representative to the EU and bilateral ambassador to Italy and Belgium.
He was chief negotiator for the Council during the final phase of the enlargement negotiations in 2002. He worked in the European Institutions for 18 years, including for Commissioner Fischer Boel and as head of cabinet for the secretary general of the Council. He was special advisor to the high representative on foreign and security policy and was instrumental in setting up the European External Action Service, the EU’s foreign service.
Poul holds a master’s in economics from Copenhagen University and Diploma of Higher European Studies from the College of Europe.
He is a senior advisor at Brussels think tank, the European Policy Centre and former president of the board of Danish think-tank EUROPA. He is a frequent public speaker on European affairs and is often consulted as an expert by governments and corporates.
