Rupert Harrison is a Senior Advisor at MAP. He is an economist and investor whose broad experience spans from the heart of the UK Government to global financial markets.

Prior to joining MAP, Rupert spent nine years at BlackRock as a Portfolio Manager and Head of Research for the Multi-Asset Strategies group, responsible for more than $10 billion of assets including global macro, ESG and climate strategies. Between 2010 and 2015 he was Chair of the UK Council of Economic Advisers and served as Chief of Staff to Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. In October 2022 he was asked by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt to chair his new Economic Advisory Council to help stabilise the UK economy after the Liz Truss mini-Budget.

Rupert is a regular commentator on economics, politics and financial markets in both written and broadcast media. He has a PhD in Economics from University College London and his academic research has been published in leading journals including the American Economic Review and the Economic Journal.
