Sander Tordoir

Senior Advisor

Sander Tordoir is a MAP Senior Advisor alongside his role as chief economist at the Centre for European Reform, a think tank devoted to making the EU work better, and strengthening its role in the world.

Prior to joining the CER, he was an advisor to the European Central Bank representative at the International Monetary Fund and an economist in the ECB’s international relations directorate. He has also worked at the World Bank and the German finance ministry.

Sander has published widely on eurozone macroeconomic policy, the EU’s trade and industrial policy response to China, the EU single market, the IMF and sovereign debt issues. His policy research has been cited in media outlets such as Bloomberg, Politico, the Financial Times and Economist and he has given testimony to the European Parliament.
