Archipelagos of Hope: The Hope Forum 2026
At the Hope Forum, hosted by ART2030 at the 2026 Venice Biennale, MAP Founding Partner and CEO Nader Mousavizadeh and Hans-Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director of Serpentine Galleries, shared the stage for a discussion titled The Archipelago World.
The conversation introduced the idea of the archipelago world: a metaphor for diverse, interconnected, and non-hierarchical global coexistence, in which art serves as a bridge across divides. The dialogue touched on the possibilities this framing opens up, both for more meaningful engagement with voices long excluded from global debates and for the growing imperative of localization and active listening as preconditions for progress on shared challenges in an age of asymmetric power.
Drawing parallels across business, governance, arts, and culture, the discussion traced the common currents shaping each domain and considered how leaders across these fields might harness the openings created by what is, in many respects, a fragmenting global order.
